Over a period of seventeen years of continuous development, Fostech has pioneered its highly successful, patented system of gravity-settlement which is being used in industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment, under the trade mark, Voluflow.
Voluflow technology can be applied in a range of industrial sectors. For retrofit applications, performance and reliability have been improved cost-effectively. New units have also been provided, offering compact and reliable installations performing better than traditional clarifier designs. The biggest Voluflow conversion so far is to an eighteen-metre diameter moving bridge clarifier.
Benefits include significantly improved overflow quality, elimination of catastrophic sludge lift/overflow, reduction or elimination of scum, and high tolerance to flow rate variations and surges.
Voluflow is a unique product on the market and Fostech is the sole provider. The technology is well developed for tough applications in primary and activated sludge settlement and is readily adaptable to other industrial gravity separations such as mineral processing, grit and oil/water interceptors, settling lagoons and contact tanks.
