About the Fostech Team and Voluflow
Dr Bill Foster is a physicist who worked for forty years in a range of industrial sectors, the first 12 years on research into pigments and paints, and smoke curing processes. This was followed by 21 years with Unilever food companies in process and product development and management. For the next 8 years Bill directed an Industrial Research Association serving linen and polypropylene textile companies.
In 1991 he and his wife Joyce who has worked in a range of industrial and public sectors, set up Fostech Ltd. to offer support and consultancy in industrial technology solutions. Early in the company’s life it became clear that gravity-settlement tank designs traditionally used in water and waste water treatment suffered from fundamental performance shortcomings and Bill judged that it was time to focus on equipment design that had hardly changed for a century.
Following his fundamental research and development work into settlement tank performance improvement, Bill developed and tested the original Voluflow design and took out patents for this innovative concept. The technology has evolved over the design history, developing to meet the demands of new and diverse applications. The theory of why Voluflow works better than clients’ conventional equipment is well advanced and it is proprietary.
Based on the strong understanding of gravity separation processes and equipment and armed with Voluflow technology solutions, Bill studies client needs in depth and proposes the most appropriate Voluflow product option. |
